RWJBarnabas Community Medical Center
RWJBarnabas Community Medical Center is a fully accredited acute care hospital in Tom’s River, New Jersey, serving the entire northern Ocean County area.
The hospital is Ocean County’s largest and most active healthcare facility and has been undergoing expansion since 2004. When completed, the hospital is scheduled to have the largest emergency department on the East Coast of the United States.
Worth & Company was awarded the Mechanical Contract for the alteration of the 57,000 SF emergency department at Community Medical Center by The Norwood Company. Worth immediately began using It’s VDC capabilities to design & coordinate the scope of work in preparation for the start of Phase 1 demolition in January of 2020.
Project Scope
- Multi-phased Mechanical Construction for the Alteration and Upgrade of an Active Emergency Department.
- Installation of Mechanical Equipment and Systems
- (5) Air Handling Units: 2 rooftop & 3 rigged in sections and built in the Mechanical Room.
- (92) VAV Terminal Units
- (12) Exhaust Fans
- (2) Air Curtains
- (2) Fan Coils
- Fabrication and Installation of 88,000 lbs. of new ductwork
The Worth project team was able to implement lean methodologies and innovative design features to successfully meet the customers’ expectations.
