Grand Central LTP MBR Conversion

Serving as the General Contractor, Worth & Company’s Industrial team was awarded the Grand Central Leachate Treatment Plant MBR Conversion project in August of 2021. The project upgrade involved the construction of the leachate treatment process including the engineer’s designed MBR to MBBR Biology Conversion, MBBR Feed Pumps, Micro-Filter to Ultra-Filter replacement, temporary filtering and treatment, NEW CIP and Permanent systems, Re-lining of the Leachate Treatment Sump, and an updated Electrical and SCADA system.

The project may have not been a success if it was not for the well-thought-out coordination process of Worth & Company, the Owner, and Design Engineer.  This project also used its Virtual Design and Construction to help assist in critical placement of structural supports for the overhead process piping systems.  Based on a tremendous effort by the whole team, the construction finished on its original completion date.  Despite its problems, our customer appreciated the overall work ethic from Worth & Company and acknowledged that the water quality is better, and well worth the wait.
